Velvet Curtains — Frequently Asked Questions
Velvet's dense pile fabric gives a rich texture and heavy, elegant drape that reads as more formal and luxurious than lighter fabrics, and its weight also helps with light-blocking and some insulation.
Velvet generally needs professional dry cleaning rather than home washing to protect the pile, and light vacuuming with an upholstery attachment between cleans helps keep dust from settling into the texture.
Velvet is a heavier fabric, so depending on the curtain width we may recommend a sturdier track rather than a basic rod — we assess this during your free home consultation and measurement.
